I have always used Castrol Power One, 10/40, 4 litres, but thats £38, where as the Halfords Semi Synthetic 10/40, 5 litres is £28 or so. I have heard various people say both good and bad things about Halfords oil, believe to be made by Comma? My friend uses it in his Exup, R1 and XR400 over the years without a hitch and swears by it.. Too much and you'll gum up the engine, too little and you risk engine damage. Most road-going two-stroke motorcycles use a fuel to oil ratio of around 25:1 however with a trials bike you need far less 2t oil, so a mix of 60:1 to up 100:1 is common. Recommended oil: Motul 800 Factory Line 2T.

Went to Halfords to look for some oil today and I can't quite believe how many different choices there are. All their own brand stuff is marked for different makes (Mercedes, VW , Ford etc)..
